YouTube mega-star MrBeast has officially added author to his ever-growing resume. Jimmy Donaldson teamed up with legendary thriller writer James Patterson to drop his debut novel, titled The Most Dangerous Games. The survival thriller hits store shelves at around $20 and follows 1,000 strangers competing across extreme global environments like Antarctica and shark-infested waters for a fictional $1 billion payout.

True to form, Donaldson is not just relying on traditional book sales to hook readers. The creator is using the release to launch a real-world $1 million contest where picking up a copy serves as the literal entry ticket. Anyone who buys an eligible physical edition can register online to participate in a series of skill-based challenges starting September 14. The real-life game relies on clues and Easter eggs hidden throughout the pages of the story, giving attentive fans a legitimate shot at changing their lives.

The high-profile collaboration brings together YouTube's most-subscribed creator and one of the best-selling fiction authors in history. Ten finalists will eventually go head-to-head in a final challenge hosted by MrBeast himself to claim the full cool million. Between his hit videos, major Amazon streaming deals, and expanding food empires, Donaldson seems set to turn the publishing world upside down next.
